Barricade Situation in Lincoln Park Ends

Police and SWAT teams gathered out the residence located on the 1700 block of North Vine Street where a man had reportedly barricaded himself inside.

Around 10:15 a.m. Saturday, police responded to a report that a man had barricaded himself inside a home on the 1700 block of North Vine Street, said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

At 2 p.m. a SWAT team on the entered the residence and found no one in the home being held against their will, said Zala.

The 4-hour long standoff ended peacefully today. Police have been contacted for a similar situation at this residence before, Zala said.

Traffic was rerouted around the area of North Avenue and Larrabee Street during the standoff.
