Police Respond to Barricade Situation in Albany Park

A barricade situation was reported early Tuesday in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood.

Officers responded around 3:20 a.m. to the 4400 block of North Drake Avenue, police said. Details surrounding the situation were not immediately available, but an HBT response, which stands for Hostage-Barricade-Terrorism, was called, according to authorities.

The situation, which lasted for several hours, ended shortly before 7:30 a.m. Police said a man was taken into custody. 

The Chicago Transit Authority said no. 78 Montrose buses were being temporarily rerouted in both directions via Montrose, Pulaski, Elston, Irving Park and Kimball.
