Police: Man Tried to Sexually Assault Teen While She Slept

The man fled the residence when he realized the female was not alone in bed

Police are warning Chicago residents after a man attempted to sexually assault a 17-year-old woman while she was sleeping in a bedroom on the city’s Southwest Side.

The incident happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Washtenaw Avenue in the Brighton Park neighborhood, police said.

A man entered through an unlocked door and attempted to sexually assault the teen while she was sleeping, according to a community alert issued by police.

The man fled the residence when he realized the female was not alone in bed, the alert said.

The suspect was described as a man, of an unknown age, with medium length, curly hair and short, scruffy facial hair.
