Police Looking for NATO Protester Who Slashed Tires on CPD Van

The incident happened last Saturday night during the NATO Summit

Chicago Police are asking the public for help identifying a NATO protester who slashed the tires of one of their vehicles during last week's summit.

The offender slashed two rear tires of a CPD vehicle driving on the 300 block of W. Jackson, Saturday, May 19, around 9:30 p.m., according to a community alert.

The act is considered "criminal damage," the alert stated.

Police describe the offender as a white male in his twenties with brown hair, slim build and last seen wearing dark clothing.

They have also released still photos from a video that shows the offender in the act. The video shows the a protester hanging on to the hood of the moving CPD van as the offender slashes both tires and runs into the crowd.
