Police Arrest Man Who Abandoned Tow Truck

Police are looking for a red tow truck involved in a hit-and-run.

Police are trying to figure out if a man they arrested after abandoning a tow truck on the Edens Expressway is the same man responsible for a hit-and-run crash that critically injured three just minutes earlier.

Illinois State Police said officers found found a red tow truck that had rolled-over in the northbound ditch of the Edens Expressway. Wilmette police arrested a man who ran from the truck near Lake Avenue.

About ten minutes earlier, a red tow truck hit a black Honda on the Northwest Side of Chicago, according to police News Affairs Officer Michael Fitzpatrick

All three people in the car were in serious-to-critical condition and were taken to to Saint Francis Hospital in EvanstonNorthwestern Memorial Hospital and Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, according to a Fire Media Affairs spokesman.
