Police Warn of Little Village Muggings

Four robberies occurred in the area in June, police said

Chicago Police urge Little Village residents to be on alert after four robberies were reported in the area this month.

Police said the robbers generally consisted of two to five black males in a group between the ages of 17 and 35, though police note that descriptions of the offenders vary.

Two attacks happened June 1 and 3 on the 2100 block of South Central Park and a second pair occurred June 13 and 14 on the 2300 block of South Pulaski and the 2200 block of South Central Park, according to Chicago Police.

The robbers took cell phones and wallets after approaching the victims on foot and forcing them to the ground, police said.

Officers remind area residents to be aware of their surroundings and immediately report suspicious activity. They also remind people to take note of unique physical characteristics, such as scars, and request contact information if witnesses of an incident approach.

Anyone with information on the robberies is asked to call the Bureau of Detectives at 312-747-8382.
