Police hiding in a La Grange church nabbed a man suspected stealing from donation boxes.

Investigators staked out St. Francis Xavier Parish and saw Daniel S. Blubaugh, 31, removing money from donation boxes at around 1:20 Monday morning, according to a La Grange police press release.

The investigation was launched after the parish reported a pattern of missing money from Sunday donations, police said.

Blubaugh is accused of felony burglary to a place of worship, possession of burglary tools, and resisting arrest, police said.

He is expected to appear in Bridgeview bond court Tuesday.
