Police Search for Evanston Robbers in Chicago

The men are believed to still be somewhere on Chicago's North Side

Evanston authorities have partnered with Chicago police to find two robbery suspects they believe fled the north suburban town to West Rogers Park to hide out.

Two men are suspected of a home invasion Sunday night in the 1700 block of Monroe Street in Evanston, police say. The homeowner told officers two armed men forced him into his house when he arrived home and demanded money and drugs.

After the robbery, the men fled the area and headed south, according to Chicago police. Evanston police attempeted to stop the vehicle, but they were eluded, they said.

In Chicago, the suspects abandoned their vehicle and ran off, throwing off some of their clothing to make it harder for police to recognize them. The vehicle was last seen in the 3000 block of West Jerome Avenue.

It's not immediately clear what the men took from the Evanston home.

Police continue to investigate in Evanston and Chicago. No arrests have been made, and the men are believed to still be somewhere on Chicago's North Side.
