Police: Driver Tried to Lure Teen Girl in Humboldt Park

Police are warning residents on Chicago’s West Side after a man reportedly tried to lure a teen girl into his vehicle Wednesday.

Police said a 15-year-old girl was walking in the 3900 block of Division in the Humboldt Park neighborhood when she was approached by an older man who “attempted to engage her in conversation with the intention of luring her into his vehicle.”

The girl ignored the offender and continued to walk home unharmed, police said.

Authorities said the man, described as a black man around 40 years old, was driving a light blue car that may have the disability Illinois license plate 163 267. He was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8200.
