Police Chase Ends with Crash, Arrests

The officers spotted the car reported stolen at a different location, says police

An early morning police chase on the South Side ended with a crash, and three men arrested.

A man called 911 to tell police he witnessed a group of men breaking into his Buick parked outside his Englewood home at 69th and Ada around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, the Sun-Times reports. The car owner reported also seeing the suspects drive off.

Officers saw the victim’s car at a different location and tried to pull it over, but the car sped off, said News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

That led to a police chase which included getting onto an unidentified expressway, the paper reports.

The Buick lost a tire and crashed in front of a CVS store at 103rd and Emerald Ave. Three men were arrested. A weapon was found, said police.
