Chicago Police announced charges Friday in connection with a Boystown stabbing incident that occurred on July 4.

Police charged suspect Darren Hayes, 24, of Hammond, Ind. for his role in a brawl on the 3300 block of North Halsted in Lakeview that was filmed and posted to YouTube.

Between 8-10 people can be seen on the video punching and kicking a victim who was later taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in good condition.

Hayes turned himself in after learning of the police investigation. Police said more arrests are likely, and are asking people with other evidence to come forth.

Hayes has been charged felony counts of aggravated battery with use of a deadly weapon, aggrevated battery in a public place, aggrevated battery with great bodily harm and felony mob action.

Police confiscated two knives from the suspect, who appeared in bond court Friday.
