Woman Hit While Giving Peace Signs in Traffic

Zsa Zsa Gabor Morris struck while trying to direct traffic

A Gary woman wanted for multiple warrants was taken to Lake County Jail Sunday after she was hit by a passing car's mirror while trying to direct traffic on Borman Expressway in Hammond.

Zsa Zsa Gabor Morris, 52, was a passenger in a disabled pickup that became disabled at 6:45 p.m., according to poice.

Morris told Indiana State Police she was giving "peace signs" to oncoming traffic to warn them of the disabled truck when she was struck in the hip by the passenger side mirror of a 1999 Chevrolet Malibu.

Morris was not injured and refused medical treatment at the scene, but she was arrested after a computer check revealed she was wanted for four warrants in Tippecanoe County for failure to appear in court to face drunken driving charges.

She was taken to Lake County Jail and was being held without bond Monday.
