The Federal Bureau of Investigation is asking for the public's help to find a man who robbed a south suburban bank at gunpoint last month. The suspect has been dubbed the "Playboy Bandit" because he wore a baseball cap with the distinctive Playboy bunny logo during the robbery.
The robbery occurred at the Charter One Bank branch, at 12004 S. Pulaski Road, in Alsip, on Sept. 11, according to a release from the FBI. Witnesses said the man entered the bank, approached a teller and placed a small gym bag on the counter. He then pulled out a silver-colored handgun from the bag and announced a robbery, threatening her with harm if his demands were not met, a release from the FBI said.
After receiving cash, the robber fled the bank on foot, and was last seen running north on Pulaski, the FBI said.
The "Playboy Bandit" is described as a white male between 40 and 45 years old. He stands about 5 feet, 6 inches and weighs about 190 pounds. He has dark hair and was wearing a gray button-down jacket and blue jeans during the robbery. His cap was blue with a white rabbit logo.
