1 Injured in Darien Walmart Shooting

Police continued to search Friday morning for a suspect involved in a shooting that left one person injured in a west suburban Walmart store Thursday evening, police said.

Police were dispatched to the store over a call that shots had been fired in the store.

When officers arrived, they located one victim with a shoulder gunshot wound. The person was transported to Good Samaritan hospital by the Westmont Fire Department.

Witnesses said the suspect left the store before police arrived. Police said an argument preceded the shooting.

No other victims were harmed in the incident. Police previously said multiple people were injured in the incident.

A person inside of the store at the time told NBC 5 he was in the electronics department when he heard 3 to 4 gunshots. He also heard people running and yelling.

"I was shocked," he said, adding that he was able to leave the store through an emergency exit.
