Patrick Kane's Jersey Top Seller for NHL in 2014

Toews finishes third on the list, provided by NHL.com

Whether it’s All-Star voting, TV ratings, or social media presence, it’s clear that Chicago Blackhawks fans are providing the team with a nice boost in a lot of areas, but on Monday they were declared a winner in yet another area:

Jersey sales.

According to data released by NHL.com, Blackhawks winger Patrick Kane had the top-selling jersey in the league in 2014. Sidney Crosby of the Pittsburgh Penguins dropped down into the second spot after finishing in first last year, and Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews maintained his spot at third on the list. Henrik Lundqvist of the New York Rangers and Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals rounded out the top five.

A big part of Kane's rise to the top of the heap is certainly the fact that the Hawks had two new jerseys debut in 2014. Their black Stadium Series jersey was a big seller, and Kane likely got a boost from the team's Winter Classic jerseys as well.

This ranking is the second time in recent days that Kane has triumphed over Crosby, as the Hawks' star beat out Crosby for a starting spot in the NHL All-Star Game when fan voting results were announced last week.
