Part of Ill. Citgo Refinery to Restart After Fire

Citgo says part of a crude oil unit at a suburban Chicago refinery will restart at the end of next week after a fire forced it to shut down.

Last week's fire affected the Lemont refinery's ability to process crude. But the plant has been able to continue producing gasoline from crude that was already processed before the Oct. 23 fire.

Citgo spokesman Peter Colarelli tells The Joliet Herald-News that plans are being made to restart one section of the crude unit after a safety review.

Another section of the unit was also shut down after the fire and Colarelli says there is no information on when it will restart.

The refinery's primary market is the Chicago region. It also supplies gasoline to other Midwest states.
