Oprah Looking for 1986 Audience

Don't make her come and hunt you down

Do you know where you were 23 years, 11 months, and 9 days ago? If so, Oprah Winfrey could be looking for you.

On September 8, 1986, the media queen taped her very first episode of the "Oprah Winfrey Show" in front of a Chicago audience. Now, as the series begins its final season, Team Oprah is looking for guests, callers, and audience members from that first show.

The show was called "How to Marry the Man/Woman of Your Choice." This was back when Oprah was giving out advice instead of cars. No one would've recognized her on Michigan Avenue, let alone shut down the street for her. And no one cared what her favorite things were.

Said stunt might help Oprah go out closer to the top. The talk show queen's ratings have been steadily dipping lately, as viewers prepare for the end of her show. But there's nothing like a good gimmick to turn things around.

So if you were there in 1986, dust off your jean jacket and break out the Ray-Bans.

But leave your hair alone. Some styles should never be revisited.
