Ohio Woman Found Guilty in Murder-For-Hire Case

A jury in central Ohio found a fashion model guilty of trying to hire a hit man to kill the mother of her husband’s kids, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Tara Lambert, 33, was found guilty of conspiracy to commit aggravated murder on Wednesday by a jury in Circleville, located south of Columbus, the Dispatch reported. She was acquitted of one count of the same charge on allegations that she also tried to have the ex-wife’s new husband killed.

Lambert was arrested late last July after she met with an undercover deputy sheriff who pretended to be a hitman, according to NBC affiliate WCMH.

Lambert gave the sheriff a photo of the woman, her address and information about her vehicles. She also paid the man $125 as a down payment, the Dispatch reported.

When he asked Lambert what she wanted to have done, Lambert told him to throw the woman into a lumber shredder, according to the Dispatch. Lambert testified in court that she was only kidding.

A psychologist testified on Lambert’s behalf, saying the model is “developmentally damaged” and that she drinks too much and abuses illegal prescription drugs.

Lambert faces up to 11 years in prison, according to the Dispatch.
