Off-Duty Chicago Police Sergeant Carjacked on South Side

An off-duty Chicago police sergeant was was carjacked in the South Shore neighborhood late Friday.

Police said the suspect took the sergeant’s 2006 silver Inifiniti QX56 around 10:18 p.m., in the 6900 block of East End Avenue, according to Chicago police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

The sergeant suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene, Sullivan said.

Details surrounding the attack were not immediately available Saturday morning.

No one is in custody and Area Central detectives are investigating.
