Obama Promises ‘First Dog' to Sasha, Malia

Americans push for choice of poodle

"I love you both more than you can imagine," Obama told his daughters, Sasha and Malia, during his address in Grant Park Tuesday night.  "You have earned the puppy that is coming with us to the White House."

It may be the president-elect's first public appointment.

Obama, in an interview with a Chicago reporter, recently said that the family was looking into labradoodles.  Sources close to the family,  however, say daughter Malia is more interested in a "goldendoodle," a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Poodle.
