President Barack Obama plans to foist Chicago into the center of world's conflicts.

He's expected to announce Wednesday night that NATO leaders will gather in Chicago next spring for their annual summit, according the Chicago Tribune.

They'll discuss the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and the planned transition from an American led offensive to a NATO led mission in 2014.

The event, which coincides with the Group of 8 meetings, will take place between May 15 and May 22 2012.

Obama's announcement will come during a speech on Afghanistan, in which he will announce a troop drawdown.
