Oak Forest Woman Wins $217K in Lottery

An Oak Forest woman is $216,666 wealthier after her $1 Quick Pick ticket was a perfect match in a recent Illinois Lottery drawing.

Therese Maske’s numbers — 2, 5, 17, 19 and 30 — matched those in the June 23 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing.

Three winning tickets shared the $650,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot that day. The other winners were sold in Roscoe and Morton Grove.

In a press release Thursday from the Illinois Lottery, Maske said, “I never thought this would happen to me.” She called her victory a “life-changing” event which will “make things easier for us.”

She and her husband have lived in Oak Forest for 10 years, the release said. They have four children and seven grandchildren. Their plans for the windfall include investing and paying bills.

“And we might take a vacation next year to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary,” she said in the release.

Maske could not be reached Thursday for comment. A phone number listed for the home has been disconnected.

Maske bought her winning ticket at Circle K, 5600 W. 159th St., Oak Forest, according to the lottery. The store will receive a $2,166 bonus, equal to 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling the winning ticket.

Jackpots for Lucky Day Lotto start at $100,000. Drawings are twice a day, seven days a week, with more than 40,000 winners every day, according to the lottery. For more information, visit www.illinoislottery.com.
