Happy new year, air travelers.

Starting Monday, some parking rates at O'Hare and Midway airports will increase by $1.

At O'Hare, the new rate applies to anyone parking five hours or more in the hourly garage, seven hours or more in the daily and international lots, nine hours or more in Economy Lot E, and two hours or more for valet parking, reports the Sun-Times.

That brings the 24-hour rate to $31 for daily, $46 for valet and $51 for hourly and international.

At Midway, it will cost $1 more to park for more than eight hours in the daily garage and seven hours or more in the hourly garage.

That brings the 24-hour rate to $29 for daily parking and $51 for hourly parking.
