Naperville Council Approves Fertility Clinic

Late-evening vote was 7-2 in approval

UPDATE: In a 7-2 vote, the Naperville City Council approved the clinic...

The controversial proposal to open a fertility clinic in downtown Naperville will be addressed again at a City Council meeting Tuesday night.

The City Council is considering whether or not to allow the clinic to open. The facility, which would be located at Benton and Washington Street, would provide services such as fertility medications, insemination, in vitro fertilization and unblocking of fallopian tubes.

Last month, hundreds of residents spoke out against the plan during a City Council meeting, arguing the clinic would be too close to churches and schools.

The city's Planning and Zoning commission already recommended the approval of the project.
