Naked Burglary Victim Chases Offenders From Lakeview Home

The burglars stole a man's wallet, which contained $250, and a PlayStation

A victim of a home invasion in Lakeview, who awoke to find two alleged burglars inside the apartment, was found outside without any clothes on chasing the intruders from the home.

The incident happened at about 5:40 a.m. in the 3200 block of Kenmore Avenue, Police News Affairs Officer Jose Estrada said.

Police first received a call about a burglary in progress, and soon after they heard reports of a naked man chasing the two offenders near Belmont and Kenmore.

The home invaders left with a man's wallet, which contained $250, and a light-colored PlayStation in a red backpack, police said.

Police described one of the offenders as a man standing 6-foot-4 to 6-foot-6 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. He was wearing a red and brown sweat jacket. The second offender was described as a man standing 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 inches tall with a fade haircut. He was wearing blue jeans.

The incident is the latest in a string of burglaries in the Lakeview neighborhood, but police say they do not know if the incidents are related.

Earlier this week, police issued a community alert warning of overnight burglaries of unlocked apartment in Lakeview.

On May 16, a man woke up in his apartment in the 2700 block of Kenmore and found burglars had intruded his home. A similar incident occurred a day later in the 3800 block of Kenmore.
