A woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thanksgiving Day while she put her child in her car in South Chicago, police said.

The SUV hit the woman around 6:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of East 87th Street, police said. She was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Hospital in critical condition.

The child was not injured in the crash.

Police don't have much information to go on, and investigators are looking for witnesses who can help.

They said they're looking for a white SUV with passenger-side damage.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call police.
