Bloomingdale Police have charged the mother of a 4-year-old who died Wednesday in Bloomingdale with murder.

Marci M. Webber is accused of killing her daughter as part of a murder-suicide attempt, according to a press release from the Bloomingdale Police.

Police responded to a domestic situation Wednesday at around 1:30 p.m. and found Webber with what appear to be self-inflicted wounds. She was taken to Adventist Glen Oaks Medical Center in Glendale Heights and was considered a suspect in the death, police said.

The 4-year-old. girl was pronounced dead on the scene.

The family is from out-of-state and was, according to neighbors, visiting a grandmother who lives in the townhouse. The mother was in the midst of a custody battle over the child, one neighbor said.

A law enforcement source said the family has a history of domestic violence.

Webber is due in court Sunday.
