Friends of a missing graduate student gathered Tuesday night to raise funds for his search.
David Gimelfarb, 28, disappeared during a hike in Costa Rica on August 11.
Last weekend, the Red Cross ended its search for him.
Tuesday night's benefit was held at Dollop Coffee in the Buena Park neighborhood. Friends and family are hoping to use the money raised to continue the search on their own.
