After a cold start to the week, Chicago may see temperatures in the 50s by the weekend.

Starting at midnight and continuing into Thursday, weather models show rain showers and possible storms throughout the day. With temperatures in the 40s into Saturday, the rain showers may be mixed with light snow.

Chicago starts the weekend with a high of 43 degrees and partly sunny conditions as well as a chance of light snow in the morning. By Sunday, it's expected to warm up to 56 degrees.

Temperatures in March have so far been below the average, which hovers around 50 degrees for this time of the month.

April is expected to begin slightly warmer than recent weeks, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s and another chance of rain.
