Gang Rape Suspects Back in Court

Four men are back in court this morning for a preliminary hearing in connection with the gang rape of a 14-year-old Stickney girl.

Alex Picallo, 16; Majeed Khalifeh, 18; Jonathan Leanos, 19; and Vicente Hernandez, 22, are charged with two counts each of aggravated criminal sexual assault. The incident, which police say happened at Leanos’ home in Stickey, was recorded on a cell phone.

Authorites say Jonathan Leanos met the 14-year-old girl on MySpace and later in person. He reportedly brought her to his home, where police say she refused to have sex with him.

Leanos is accused of then throwing the girl against a wall, raping her and recording the attack on his cell phone. He then allegedly drove two of his friends over, and a third showed up.

All four men are accused of sexually assaulting the girl and using cell phones to record it. According to police, Leanos drove the girl home after the attacks. She told her parents about the assault and they immediately called police.

Picallo was ordered held on $500,000 bond, Khalifeh on a $600,000 bond, Leanos on $750,000 bond, and Hernandez is being held on a $600,000 bond.

The four are scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. today at the Bridgeview Courthouse on 10220 S. 76th St.
