At his daily press briefing Friday, a reporter asked the Mayor what he thought about an interview the governor did on the WLS-AM radio Don Wade and Roma Morning Show.
"I've said it before. I'll say it again -- cuckoo," Daley said with emphasis on the word cuckoo.
Blagojevich went on a media blitz Friday, sheduling an afternoon press conference and radio interview. The governor's Illinois Senate impeachment trial is set for Monday. He's been charged in federal court with auctioning off President Barack Obama's U.S. senate seat to the highest bidder.
Earlier Friday morning, Gov. Blagojevich lashed out at the impeachment process, saying he's not guilty of any wrongdoing.
"I think the fix is in. They even have a date when the trial will end," Blagojevich said. "How fair is that?"
The governor said if he had done something wrong, he would have resigned.
"This is a 21st century Frank Capra movie -- Gary Cooper, Jimmy Stewart movie. How the good guy was up against the establishment," he said. "This is what this story is. The difference is you wouldn't hear the language used in those movies."
Another movie that comes to mind? "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest."
