Some big names with a nostalgic twist hit the Ravinia stage this summer.
The lineup, announced Thursday, features the Goo Goo Dolls, Jewel and Journey in a star-studded lineup that includes Sting, Sheryl Crow, Gin Blossoms and Paula Cole at the summer music festival in Highland Park.
Former Hootie & the Blowfish frontman Darius Rucker makes his debut at Ravinia along with lineup first-timers Josh Groban, Melissa Etheridge and David Byrne & St. Vincent.
Those in need of an alternative-rock or general-'90s fix will enjoy Matchbox Twenty, Smash Mouth and Sugar Ray.
The 2013 season includes more than 120 events from June 5 to Sept. 15 including a Midwest premiere of The Goat Rodeo Sessions by Yo-Yo Ma and friends, a Benny Goodman tribute celebrating the 75th anniversary of his Ravinia debut and the 78th summer residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
