A 29-year-old Marine killed while serving in Afghanistan will be laid to rest Sunday.
Captain Nathan McHone was one of six Marines who died in a helicopter crash on Jan. 19. The Crystal Lake native joined the Marines in 2005, and was working toward becoming a pilot.
McHone was highly decorated during his career.
His family invited the Illinois Patriot Guard riders to participate in the service, which is being held at Prince of Peace Church on McHenry Avenue in Crystal Lake. The Patriot Guard riders plan to escourt McHone to his final resting place.
