Marian Catholic High School president is happy to report that all students who were sent home last week because they were late on tuition are now back in school.
Last Tuesday, approximately 300 students were pulled from class at Marian Catholic High School because their parents were late on tuition payments. About 100 were sent home embarrassed, angry, and confused.
Marian president Judine Hilbing said she is happy to report that all students are now back in school. All students are either current on their tuition or have set up a payment plan.
"No one has been excluded because of financial reasons," Hibling told The SouthtownStar. "We did not lose any students because of this."
Many students received financial aid thanks to the school's Sister Simeon Fund, which offers emergency tuition aid in special circumstances. After last week's news, the school received $16,000 in donations for tuition assistance.
"The issue is resolved," Hilbing said, hoping to move on from the fiasco.
