Female Jogger Attacked by Man With Knife at Suburban Park

A manhunt is underway for a man who allegedly cut a 26-year-old woman with a knife while she was jogging at a suburban park Tuesday, according to authorities.

Bridgeview police say the woman was jogging at Founder’s Park, located at 8200 S. 78th Avenue, when she was attacked from behind by a man.

The man allegedly grabbed the woman and began to tear her clothing before slashing at her with knife, cutting her legs and upper torso, according to police.

The man was described as being about 40 years old, around 5 feet, 8 inches tall with a stocky build, gray beard and hairy arms.

Police have begun a manhunt for the suspect and have urged residents to take caution in the area.

The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries and was listed in stable condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

"Please bring a flashlight, a whistle, something that could help you in case this ever happens again," said Bridgeview police chief Walter Klimek.
