A west suburban man was discovered drowned Sunday evening after he went missing while swimming with two friends in a northwest suburban lake.

The three were swimming in Pistakee Bay on Pistakee Lake on the Chain O’Lakes near McHenry when William Trybula, 49, did not return to their boat, according to the McHenry County Coroner’s office.

Authorities were called at 3:48 p.m. and Trybula, of Melrose Park, was found submerged in the bay about 45 minutes later, according to the coroner’s office.

He was taken to Centegra Hospital-McHenry where he was pronounced dead at 5:05 p.m.

An autopsy performed Monday revealed findings consistent with drowning, the coroner’s office said.

    Toxicology results are pending.
