Rolling Meadows Police are searching for a man who tried to lure a 12-year-old into his vehicle.

It happened around 10 a.m. Sunday near Algonquin Road and Barker Avenue.

Police say the girl was walking across a parking lot when she noticed a vehicle slowly driving toward her.

The driver, speaking in Spanish, asked her if she needed a ride. The girl didn't reply and kept walking, but after the driver kept asking her to get in the car, she ran away.

The girl was able to provide police with a description of the suspect. He's described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s with a thin build and short, spiked hair.

He was wearing a red Chicago Bulls tank top with a white t-shirt underneath, along with a long, thick, silver necklace with a circular shaped pendant.

The vehicle was described as a silver-colored, four-door sedan with body damage on the right front and right rear.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rolling Meadows Police Department at 847-255-2416 or 847-590-STOP (7867).
