Man Threatened Girlfriend, Coworkers With Gun: Police

A west suburban Woodstock man is facing felony charges after police say he battered his girlfriend and threatened her and her coworkers with a gun.

The woman came to the Woodstock Police Department at 6:59 a.m. on July 24 and told officers her boyfriend, 31-year-old Francisco Rodriguez, had battered her and held her against her will at his home, according to a statement from Woodstock police.

She also told officers Rodriguez threatened her and her coworkers with a firearm, police said.

A no-bond arrest warrant was issued against Rodriguez for domestic battery, and he was arrested about 2 p.m. in the 400 block of East Terra Cotta Road in Crystal Lake, police said.

Police executed a search warrant on Rodriguez’s basement Clay Street apartment and found a silver pistol matching the victim’s description and multiple rounds of ammunition, they said.

Rodriguez was charged with two felony counts of use of a weapon by a felon and transported to the McHenry County Adult Correctional Facility, police said.

His bond was set at $9,100 and his next court date is scheduled for August 21, according to the McHenry County Sheriff’s office.
