Police: Man jumped out of stall, attacked victim

An Uptown man faces felony charges after police say he attacked another man with a broken beer bottle in the bathroom of a Wrigleyville bar early Sunday morning.

Police say the attack occurred at the Red Ivy Chicago Sports Bar and Restaurant in the 3500 block of N Clark St.

The victim was in the bathroom when the attacker jumped out of a bathroom stall and slashed him with the sharp edge of a broken beer bottle, cutting him in the neck, chin and hands, according to police.

Another man entered the bathroom and helped subdue the attacker until officers arrived.

Gregg Greaves, 23, was charged with one felony count of Aggravated Battery/Bodily Harm.

The victim was taken to a local hospital but his condition was not released.

Greaves is expected in court Monday.
