Man Shot to Death in Aurora Restaurant Bathroom

No description of the shooters was available as of Tuesday morning

The shooting death of a 22-year-old man inside a restaurant bathroom in Aurora, west of Chicago, was that suburb's first homicide of the year, authorities said.

The man was shot inside La Torta Carniceria y Taqueria, in the Northgate Shopping Center, just after 7:30 p.m. Monday. He was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said the victim, who was not publicly named by 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, was shot more than once.

Two men fled the shopping center, on the 800 block of North Lake Street, possibly on foot. No description of the shooters was immediately available, nor was it clear what lead to the shooting.
