Man Shot in Head Drove Himself to Hospital

The 36-year-old man was shot around 12:03 a.m. in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood

A man shot in the back of the head early Monday was conscious enough to drive himself to the hospotal, police said.

The 36-year-old man was shot in what was believed to be a drive-by around 12:03 a.m. in Chicago's South Shore neighborhood, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

He was then alert enough to drive himself to Jackson Park Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

The man was then transferred to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was in serious condition.

Calumet Area detectives are investigating the shooting. No one is yet in custody.
