Gas Station Shooting
A 21-year-old Chicago man died Wednesday, hours after being shot in an apparent drive-by outside a South Side gas station.
Tarance Franklin, 22, of the 5900 block of South Aberdeen Street was pronounced dead shortly before 5 p.m. at Mount Sinai Hospital, said a spokesperson with the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Franklin was outside a Marathon gas station in the 1200 block of W. 59th Street at about 12:20 Wednesday morning when he got into an argument with another man, police said.
The man with whom Franklin argued but later returned in a white SUV and fired shots from the passenger side, striking the man several times in his head and body, police said.
No one is in custody and Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
