Man Shot While Walking Blocks From CPD Headquarters

A man was shot on a street Thursday night on the Near South Side just blocks away from Chicago Police Department headquarters.

The man was walking in the 3700 block of South Michigan Avenue in the city's Bronzeville neighborhood around 9:45 p.m. when two people got out of a car, shot him in the shoulder and then left the scene, police said.

The man was taken to John H Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County where he was listed in stable condition, according to authorities.

No one was in custody as of Friday morning.
