Man Shot While Cleaning Neighbor's Gutters

Police collect evidence at the scene of the shooting.

A man was shot in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood Thursday while helping his neighbor clean his gutters.

Edward Walker, 56, was standing outside the home in the 2300 block of West 72nd Street when gunshots rang out at about 1:45 p.m. He was struck in the chest.

Family members say he's listed in critical but stable condition.

"If you need help carrying bags in the house he was always helping, cleaning people's gutters, painting, he does everything," a relative of the victim said.

Police have not made any arrests in the case.
