A 45-year-old man was shot near the Eisenhower Expressway late Wednesday night.
Police said the man was shot around 10:20 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Van Buren Street.
The man was outside when someone exited a grey sedan and shot him before fleeing onto the expressway, authorities said.
He suffered gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen and was taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County in stable condition.
Area Central detectives are investigating.
