Guess he had to go see a man about beating up a horse.

A 21-year-old man spent the night in jail Sunday after allegedly assaulting a Chicago police officer's four-legged whip, causing the horse to panic and rear back on its hind legs in the middle of a crowd at the Lollapalooza music festival, says the Trib.

The alleged hoof hater, Pablo Fernandez, was intent on petting the animal when he approached the horseback cop in the block of 500 East Congress Plaza Drive at about 9 p.m. Sunday. The officer ordered Fernandez to move aside. Fernandez refused and punched the horse.

Fernandez was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct, according to police.
