A man was rescued from the Chicago River on Wednesday night after he fell into the water following a two-vehicle crash, police said.
The car accident occured at Congress and River streets shortly after 8 p.m., according to police. A spokesperson told NBC Chicago the man had minor injuries and had gotten out of his vehicle and slipped into the water.
The injured victim was recovered and immediately transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.
The severity of his injuries was not immediately known.
