Man Found Murdered was Beaten to Death: Police

Family members found man's home ransacked and his car stolen

A New Lenox Township man found dead in his home Tuesday night was beaten to death, police say.

Will County Sheriff's Deputies say family members of Dwight Jones, 59, went to check on him after he didn't show up at a family function.

When they arrived, they found the back sliding glass door unlocked and his residence ravaged. They called police, who found Jones' body, according to The Herald News.

Fingerprints on file confirmed Jones' identity. His family was unable to identify him, as his body was too badly decomposed.

The man's 2008 gray Volkswagen Jetta, with Illinois license plate A234576, was also missing from the house.
