A man who was found dead hanging from a tree off Lake Shore Drive Monday during rush hour has been identified.
The Cook County medical examiner's office identified the man as Abdela M. Hagaito, 42, of the 6000 block of North Kenmore Avenue.
Around 7:50 a.m., authorities were called to the 5100 block of North Lake Shore Drive on reports of a body that was seen in a fielded area near Foster Avenue in Edgewater, police said.
A preliminary investigation shows the death appeared to be a suicide, police said.
Area North detectives have launched a non-criminal investigation into the incident.
