Police have identified a man found early Thursday near a Metra parking lot in Park Ridge and ruled his death a homicide.

The man was found at about 2:18 a.m. on the ground in the 200 block of South Summit Avenue near Metra tracks, Park Ridge Police said.

He later was identified as Henry W. Nowak, 39, from Chicago. He carried no identification, and police asked the public's help in identifying him.

There were no "observable signs of trauma," police said, and the exact cause of death has yet to be determined.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday classified the death as a homicide. The office has yet to release specific findings.
